About Scanning Japan

John Watson uses photographs taken in Japan, while traveling with his eight-year-old son, as material for collage. In this series, “Japan 06 Weavings,” two images are digitally “woven” together, creating panoramas of both continuity and interruption. These visual abstractions reflect harmonies and complexities found within Japanese culture. He is interested in exploring the ensuing balance between intention and randomness. www.johnwatsonstudio.com
