Photography as a fine art has a peculiar connection to the real world. My overall intention is to offer depictions of reality (worth contemplating because they are real) while acknowledging the mysterious relationships of things photographed.
By closely observing, narrowing my field of vision, I find nuance in details of my surroundings. I generally relate form rather than space. Photography is my way of addressing the reality of nature and our built environment with uncertain meaning something paradoxically as real as the physical thing pictured.
Technical mastery of digital printing allows me to present my version of the world on a piece of paper. I make my own digital photographic prints using highest quality archival materials.
Currently I am concentrating on two projects: (1) adding to Enchanted Ground (click IMAGES above); and (2) a new compilation on the theme of obstacles and doubt expressed by obscure views or blocked paths.
